Sandi Fein is a South Florida-based abstract artist. Her work is driven by intuition, emotion, and an evolving creative vision. After fulfilling a 20-year career as a Registered Nurse, she transitioned into the world of art, embracing the profound need for creative expression that had long been a part of her life. This shift was not just a career change but a deep personal transformation. One that allowed her to explore new depths of self-discovery and artistic freedom.
Sandi’s work is defined by a layered and textural style. She views each piece as an exploration, built upon layers of experimentation, intuition, and emotion. Over time, her artistic style has evolved from realism to abstraction, a progression that mirrors her journey of letting go, embracing uncertainty, and finding beauty in imperfection.
She began her creative journey in 2000 by attending multiple workshops and instructions with Miles Laventhall and continued with his invaluable mentorship for over twenty years.
In 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Sandi discovered Nicholas Wilton’s Creative Visionary Program (CVP), a pivotal moment in her artistic development. Immersing herself in the program provided a profound shift in perspective, allowing her to move beyond habitual realism and embrace a more authentic, expressive approach to painting. This experience reinforced her belief that mistakes are not setbacks but essential layers of growth and meaning within a work of art.
"I'm spending my time experimenting with different techniques, always inviting an abundance of randomness into my paintings. Eventually, they became the tools in my visual vocabulary. I find myself taking more risks and enjoying the process along the way. Many times mistakes become random areas that I love."
